San Gimignano, Fiera delle Messi

La Fiera delle Messi in San Gimignano is fair showing the ancient past of this unique medieval village again through the events, typical costumes of the past and the cooking.
This throwback takes place in June.

Siena, Il Palio

The Palio of Siena is probably one of the most famous events of Tuscany. The race itself takes place twice a year: the 2nd of July and the 16th of August. Yet, the race is just the last act of a ceremony that lasting the whole year and engaging all the 17 contrade (city quarter) in which the city is divided.

Monteriggioni, “Monteriggioni di torri si corona” - Medieval festival

Every year Monteriggioni awakens the chivalry’s spirit and dresses up with medieval costumes. Medieval money, jesters’ jokes, knghts’ strifes and a lot more.
This is what the festival named “Monteriggioni di torri si corona” is (quoting the description that Dante gives of it in its Divina Commedia).
It takes place between June and July in the old village of Monteriggioni and it’s like going back into the past.

Organized directly by the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium this is an important and unique event for all the wine lovers.

San Gimignano, “Giallo come l’oro” (Yellow as gold)

A real celebration of the saffron, one of the most important and well-known production of the area around San Gimignano. During the event would take place live cooking demonstration to show how this tasty and precious ingredient is used in the Italian cooking.
The event “Giallo come l’oro” is due between the end of October and the beginning of November.
